Are you currently working in, managing, or have experience with global virtual teams (i.e., teams who work across geographic boundaries, use technology to communicate, and who are culturally and linguistically diverse - with at least two nationalities present)?
In the first phase of our study, we interviewed experts about their experiences, knowledge, and perspectives, generating over 400 individual ideas related to the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for global virtual teamwork.
We are now undertaking Phase 2, for which we are seeking professionals to sort and evaluate the 80 competency statements retained from Phase 1. The goal is to:
- group similar items by theme,
- assess the level of consensus among participants based on their profiles (we'll be comparing responses from different language profiles),
- and measure the importance of each competency - as well as your proficiency level (i.e., self-assessment) - for effective and sustainable collaboration within a global virtual team.
Participation can be done independently in English or French and takes about an hour (can be done over multiple sessions).
If you are interested in participating, please respond to the following questions, and I will contact you shortly with access instructions to the activity.
Participation is volontary and there is no payment or reward for participating. However, previous participants have highlighted that the activity led to deeper reflections about their skills, skills development, and participation in global virtual teams. Upon completion of this research phase, you will be invited to a results review session where we will sahre the research results and provide further space for professionals to share their experienced and reflect on the topic.
